Ranjani Ramanathan

Ranjani Ramanathan serves as a customer service representative at Sherwin-Williams, a role she has held for the past few months. With four years of experience in information technology, she previously spent time at Cognizant monitoring multiple dashboards, escalating errors to secondary teams, conducting automated website validations, creating work orders for pending tasks, and compiling monthly metrics. Ranjani earned her bachelor's degree in computer science from South Holyoke College in 2020 and is obtaining a graduate certificate in business analytics. She attributes her success to her parents' encouragement to enter the field and her consistent ability to remember deadlines and arrive prepared each day. Ranjani advises young women entering information technology to get involved in as many projects as possible to demonstrate their interest. She values respecting others and treating people equally in both her work and personal life. Among the challenges in her field, she notes the integration of artificial intelligence into the workplace, while seeing opportunities in learning to use AI tools to enhance productivity. Outside of her professional duties, Ranjani has volunteered with the Department of Youth and Family Services and Crisis Text Line, mentored foster youth, and regularly donates to the Salvation Army and the Borgen Project.
