Her Story

About Raquel

Raquel Okanla is a marketing professional in the software technology industry with experience dating back to 2006. She entered the field after working in the mobile phone industry, where she managed churn and loyalty programs, and transitioned those skills into IT software subscription renewal services and two-tier distribution systems involving partners such as Salesforce. In her current role, she collaborates with global systems integrators including Accenture and IBM on joint marketing initiatives to drive digital transformation for strategic clients. Her responsibilities encompass managing marketing relationships, developing go-to-market strategies, overseeing multi-million dollar budgets for events and account-based marketing campaigns, and ensuring consistent representation of partnerships to the market. Previously at AWS, she built the partner marketing organization for the public sector from a team of one to 35 globally between 2016 and 2021. She earned an undergraduate degree in Business Economics from Penn State's School of Business and later obtained an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin after working as an economist for three years. Okanla received the Visionary Award at the 2024 Channel Marketing Association Excellence Awards and has been a member of the National Association of Black MBAs and the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management. She has volunteered by leading alumni interview teams for UT Austin and supporting fellowship organizations.
