Rassalyn RawlsUter is the self-employed owner of Exclusive Hair Studio and Spa. With 27 years in the salon industry and 15 years in the nonprofit sector, she specializes in healthy hair and non-surgical hair replacement as well as entrepreneurship. Rassalyn earned a Bachelor's in Biology from Jackson State University and holds a Master Cosmetology license. She is a member of the ATL Airport Chamber, the airport minority association committee, the Loveless Daughters Foundation, and the Sickle Cell Foundation. Rassalyn attributes her success to mentorship, coming from a family that thrives with leadership, and giving back to the community. She advises others to never give up, to follow their dreams, and to apply hard work and dedication. Rassalyn values treating people with respect and doing one's best in business and personal life while emphasizing consistency and focus as key to overcoming challenges.

I attribute my success to mentorship and coming from a family that thrives with leadership, as well as giving back to the community.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to never give up.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say the best career advice would be to follow your dreams and anything can become a reality if you put in hard work and dedication behind it.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges right now are consistency, especially with how the world is now where people are losing jobs and coming back, but the main thing is staying focused and making sure that you continue to do your best and stay consistent with what you're doing.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are to always treat people nice, the way you want to be treated, respect others and their boundaries, and in business always do your best and serve your best, something that you would like to receive back from someone else.
