Her Interview

Ten minutes with Raven

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from my dad who instilled a strong work ethic in me. He taught me to stand up for myself and for what I believe in, and to work hard. Whenever I would leave the house as a teenager he would say: “Remember who you are”. I have carried that with me through life and have never forgotten who I am. I remembered his advice when I spoke up about issues at my previous bank, which ultimately led me to this new opportunity.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I’ve been fortunate to have several mentors throughout my career who have supported me, challenged me, and encouraged me to grow. The best advice I’ve received is to stay adaptable, be ready for change, and remain grounded no matter what position you hold. Banking, leadership, and life are constantly evolving, and the ability to adjust while staying true to your values is what allows you to continue growing. That advice has helped me navigate both opportunities and challenges, and it’s something I carry with me every day.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Break through your ceiling and don't hold yourself back. Always be ready to take the next step forward and look into the unknown. “In any given moment we have two options- step forward into growth or step back in safety”. I hope you always have the courage to step forward.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in banking right now is balancing technology with personal relationships. Customers want the convenience of digital banking, but they still value trust, guidance, and human connection when making important financial decisions. At the same time, that challenge creates a tremendous opportunity. Banks that can embrace innovation while continuing to invest in their people and communities will be positioned for long-term success. As a leader, I see an opportunity to help customers navigate change while ensuring they still receive the personalized service they deserve.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me most in both my work and personal life are integrity, compassion, resilience, and service to others. I believe in treating people with respect, leading by example, and always being willing to lend a helping hand. Whether I’m leading a team, serving customers, volunteering in my community, or spending time with my family, I strive to be someone others can trust and depend on. I also value growth and adaptability, because some of life’s greatest opportunities come from embracing change while staying true to who you are.
