Her Story
About Rebeca
Rebeca Diaz serves as Creative Program Manager at a nonprofit organization focused on foster youth, a role she has held for three years. With a decade of involvement in the nonprofits world, she has volunteered extensively with approximately ten foster youth organizations, drawing from her own experience in the system as a youth. In her current position, Diaz handles administrative duties while gathering content from various departments to raise awareness about the foster care system and housing initiatives that have supported 200 young adults in two years. Her efforts in marketing, advertising, and social media have grown the organization's annual budget from $200,000 to over $5 million. An artist with a bachelor's degree in studio art from UC Santa Cruz, following two years at San Diego State on a full scholarship, Diaz also creates commission work including awards for charity galas and events. She is a member of cultural arts organizations Arts Bridging the Gap and Arts for LA, and recently received the Arts Windows Between Worlds award for her work on a toolkit for trauma-informed patients in arts and healing.
