Rebecca Feilmann, MA, Head of School at Colorado Early Colleges Windsor, is an accomplished educational leader with over eight years of experience in secondary and post-secondary education. She has developed a distinguished career focused on instructional coaching, mentorship, and educational administration, with particular expertise in curriculum development, pedagogical practices, and exceptional student services. Rebecca holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Northern Colorado and possesses K-12 Principal Authorization, reflecting her deep commitment to academic excellence and the advancement of innovative educational practices. Throughout her tenure at Colorado Early Colleges Windsor, Rebecca has served in key leadership roles, including Interim Head of School, Dean of Academics, and Director of Instruction. In these positions, she has successfully overseen curriculum and instruction, led professional development initiatives, implemented data-driven assessment strategies, and supported the holistic growth of students across diverse learning needs, including MTSS, IEP, 504, GT, and ELL programs. In 2024, Rebecca’s exceptional leadership was recognized when her school earned a School of Distinction Award, honoring her dedication to creating an inclusive, high-performing educational environment that empowers both students and faculty. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Rebecca is an accomplished writer and poet, with one of her works published in 2018. The best career advice I’ve ever received is to trust your team. By empowering others and having confidence in their abilities, you create a collaborative environment where everyone can contribute their best, fostering growth, innovation, and shared success.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay resilient and persevere, no matter the challenges. Don’t let negativity or doubters deter you. Trust your skills, stay focused on your goals, and keep pushing forward with confidence and determination.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is advocating for charter schools while navigating and pushing back against bureaucratic red tape. This work requires persistence, strategic communication, and a commitment to ensuring that innovative educational models have the support and flexibility they need to thrive for the benefit of students and communities.
