Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a few key factors. First, I've had many opportunities to take on new or ambiguous roles and determine how to lay the foundations for success. These experiences have honed my problem-solving skills and resourcefulness which I carry through to other roles. Second, I've been fortunate enough to work for best-in-class, innovative organizations where I'm surrounded by amazing, smart, driven coworkers that I got to learn from. And lastly, I've had varied, but complementary roles across both large enterprises and startups, as well as customer-facing and marketing roles. Together, these give me a unique perspective to bring to product marketing and enablement.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received (and that I give) is to find opportunities to learn and challenge yourself. If your current role doesn’t provide them, seek outside opportunities to elevate your skills. Think creatively, whether it's building the role you want within a company, moving to another department, or taking on additional stretch projects. I started the solutions marketing function at LinkedIn because I noticed gaps in resourcing coupled with my desire to have a more squarely marketing-focused position. I created a business case for the role I wanted, pitched it to my director at the time, and I transitioned into that role after securing her buy-in. Don't be afraid to envision the role you want and figure out how to make it happen.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To young women entering the industry, I advise being okay if your career takes a turn and doesn’t go according to your plan. Sometimes those turns or pivots lead you to something new and even more rewarding. Recognize that your job is not your whole identity, especially in tech, where layoffs and changes are common. Stay open to change, be flexible, and take pride in your hard work and accomplishments. What you bring to the table matters, regardless of the title you hold.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges, but also opportunities, in the industry today is AI. It's easy to get lost all that AI can offer, so the key is learning to use AI effectively for your role and your company, and setting the right priorities to maximize impact. In my current role, I focus on leveraging AI to make a meaningful difference in how our sellers operate at Stripe and how my team can function more efficiently. I see it as something we can use to be better at our jobs and do new and innovative things we couldn't have done previously.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In both my personal and professional life, I value managing with compassion, recognizing the contributions of the entire team, maintaining openness, and consistently upholding business integrity.
