Rebecca Herbert is a go-to-market (GTM) and revenue strategy leader with over 18 years of experience helping SaaS, FinTech, AI, and technology companies build and scale high-performing commercial engines. Originally from Australia and now based in Austin, Texas, she has built her career across global markets, partnering with VC-backed startups, scale-ups, and post-IPO organizations. Her work focuses on designing and executing GTM strategies, strengthening RevOps foundations, and helping leadership teams build the structures needed to scale revenue effectively.

Throughout her career, Rebecca has been deeply involved in both recruitment and strategic advisory work, giving her a unique perspective on how people and systems drive business growth. She has built and led GTM and sales functions from the ground up, supported founders in launching into new markets, and advised companies on leadership hiring, organizational design, and revenue maturity. Known for thriving in fast-paced, founder-led environments, she is particularly drawn to early-stage and high-growth companies where strategy, execution, and adaptability intersect.

Alongside her commercial work, Rebecca is an active advocate for women in leadership and an engaged member of communities such as LeadHERship Global, Women in Tech, and Pavilion. She frequently mentors emerging female leaders and emphasizes collaboration, honesty, and relationship-building in her professional approach. Now also expanding into board and advisory roles, she supports startups and scale-ups with GTM strategy, US market expansion, and revenue leadership, combining commercial clarity with a strong focus on community and empowerment in tech.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I would say building an engaged community of executives across go-to-market in the US from the ground up has been my most notable achievement. I came to this country never having lived in the US and not knowing anyone, and at my age, coming into a new country not knowing anyone was challenging. But I've built a great network that I've really invested in, and the community here has been brilliant. Coming from a small country town called Wagga Wagga in Australia to building out go-to-market teams across North America - it's been quite a journey. I'm a builder, and I've always built something from the ground up. I've always run teams, and I'm very passionate about women in leadership and women in tech.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is that success starts internally. Real belief in your own ability isn’t always easy to build, but it’s what drives everything that follows. From there, it’s about putting in the work - staying consistent, building strong relationships, and delivering results.

Just as important is building the right support system around you. Invest in finding a mentor and surround yourself with talented, driven people in your field. Self-doubt will creep in....it always does, and when it does, you need people in your corner who can remind you of the value you bring and help you stay on track.

That combination, self-belief, strong execution, and the right network has fueled my growth and allowed me to make a meaningful impact on others along the way.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to be intentional about building and investing in your network early, not just for what you can gain, but for how you can connect others in meaningful ways. Focus on consistently adding value, actively support other women in leadership and tech, and prioritize long-term relationships over short-term wins, as that’s where lasting career growth really comes from.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the field right now is ongoing market volatility in tech and SaaS, including the lingering effects of the 2020–2022 downturn, widespread redundancies, and the reality that even strong companies can shift or fold unexpectedly. At the same time, there is a major opportunity in the continued demand for building and scaling go-to-market teams, especially as emerging areas like AI reshape how companies grow and require constant learning, adaptation, and new approaches to revenue strategy.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My whole philosophy is about how I can add value, and that always comes around. My passion is the long term - it's not always about making a quick buck. It's not always about whether a relationship can turn into money straight away. It's about how can I add value, and how can we empower and support each other to reach our dreams and growth in our careers. I'm very passionate about women in leadership and women in tech. I'm planning to build a community of go-to-market leaders with really well thought out, targeted meetups - not just a lunch to come and have a free sandwich and a glass of champagne, but where I'm connecting people that can add value to their career and their profession. I'm a connector, and I want to make sure people are sitting next to someone who can help them with cross-collaboration.
