Rebecca Herring
Rebecca Herring, DAADOM, is a Denver-based dental coach and founder of Transformational Dental Coaching, where she partners with dental practices to enhance leadership, streamline operations, and strengthen team culture. Growing up in a dental family and participating in humanitarian dental trips, Rebecca developed a lifelong passion for patient care and the inner workings of dental practices. Her approach combines empathy, strategic systems, and clear communication to elevate both team performance and the patient experience.
Before returning to dentistry, Rebecca pursued a career as a professional ballroom dancer and taught dance at William & Mary, bringing discipline, creativity, and mentorship skills to every endeavor. With over 15 years of experience in dental operations, she has held leadership roles such as Chief Operating Officer for multi-location dental organizations, where she successfully implemented virtual assistant systems, doubled production, reduced chair time by 80%, and significantly improved accounts receivable. These achievements inspired her to launch her own coaching business in 2023 to help other practices thrive.
Rebecca specializes in dental practice management, office manager and leadership development, virtual assistant integration, SOP creation, patient communication, and operational efficiency. She emphasizes a human-centered philosophy she calls “MMFI — Make Me Feel Important,” advocating for leadership rooted in empathy, recognition, and intentional communication. In addition to coaching and consulting, Rebecca is an international speaker and trainer, dedicated to equipping dental leaders to grow with clarity, purpose, and confidence while fostering high-performing, resilient teams.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the experiences I had accompanying my father on dental humanitarian trips, which taught me empathy and the impact we can have on others. I also live by a principle he instilled in me: MMFI—Make Me Feel Important. Treating people with respect and recognizing their value inspires them to give their best. Whether supporting someone through a personal challenge or ensuring my team feels valued, prioritizing humanity first always brings out the best in people.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received comes from a principle my father taught me: MMFI—Make Me Feel Important. When you treat people with respect and genuinely value what they bring, they are inspired to give more in return.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is: don’t be afraid to let your light shine. Go for it—you have what it takes. Seek out mentors who can guide and support you; some of the most impactful people in my life started as mentors who believed in me even when I didn’t fully believe in myself. Those relationships not only helped me grow professionally but became some of my dearest friends.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in our field right now is addressing post‑COVID staffing shortages and ensuring administrative teams have adequate training and resources. At the same time, there are significant opportunities to implement virtual assistant models and establish clear standard operating procedures. These strategies can increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve both production and accounts receivable, ultimately strengthening the overall performance of a practice.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important value to me is treating people with love and respect - making them feel important. My dad raised us on the principle MMFI: Make Me Feel Important. When you treat people with respect and they feel valued in what they do and what they offer to your company, they will always do more for you than you expect. This is true whether you're working with a CEO or a janitor. It's not about doing big, grand gestures - it's about the little things, like being there for a team member when their father passes away, or just treating people as humans. When you do what's right for people and show them genuine care, they stay with you and give you everything. I also believe strongly in empathy and understanding the impact we can have on others, which I learned from those humanitarian trips with my dad.
