Her Story

About Rebecca

Rebecca Hosking is a Nashville-based writer, artist, musician, and photographer whose creative career spans multiple forms of storytelling. From an early age, Hosking developed a passion for writing through journaling and has continued to cultivate a lifelong creative practice that includes fiction, poetry, visual art, and songwriting. With a specialty in entertainment, she uses her diverse artistic background to explore human experiences through both written and visual mediums. Her work reflects a deep curiosity about the world, shaped by extensive travel to more than 45 countries across seven continents and a commitment to sharing those experiences through creativity.

Throughout her career, Hosking has blended artistic expression with specialized knowledge, earning certifications in criminology, forensic psychology, and forensic art. She has applied these areas of study to her writing, including a psychological thriller centered on a forensic psychologist, and to her work as a forensic artist creating composite portraits, courtroom scenes, and age-progressions. In addition to her writing and visual art, Hosking has made significant contributions to the music community, serving as Creative Director for the Tennessee Songwriters Association International for five years, where she organized meetings and produced a monthly newsletter for members. She is also an accomplished songwriter, with music featured in independent films, television, and by independent artists, and has had songs licensed for media placement.

Today, Hosking continues to pursue her creative vision while balancing multiple professional roles. She works in automotive photography, trains AI systems in the early mornings, and dedicates her afternoons and evenings to writing and artistic projects. She credits her success to the encouragement of her parents, persistence, and a refusal to give up despite challenges and rejection. Guided by values of kindness, empathy, honesty, and creative expression, Hosking encourages emerging artists—especially women—to make their voices heard, remain visible, and continue creating with confidence. Her belief is simple: every creator has a story worth sharing, and perseverance is what transforms that story into an impact.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Rebecca

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the incredible support and encouragement I received from my parents. I was fortunate to grow up with two parents who always reminded me that their greatest wish was for me to be happy and pursue what felt right for my life. Their unconditional support gave me the confidence to follow my own path, take risks, and make decisions that aligned with my passions and goals.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is simple: never give up. I was told that the people who ultimately succeed are often the ones who keep going, even when things are difficult. Persistence, resilience, and believing in your vision can make all the difference.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is: do not allow yourself to become invisible. Use your voice, share your ideas, and show the world what you are capable of creating. Your talent and determination matter, regardless of gender. Keep writing, keep creating, and continue advocating for yourself and your work.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is that entertainment, creativity, and the arts are not always prioritized in public conversations and decision-making. I believe creativity plays an essential role in society and should be recognized as a powerful force for connection, understanding, and change. At the same time, this creates an opportunity for artists and creators to continue demonstrating the value and impact of their work.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are kindness, empathy, and compassion. I believe we live in a time when we need more understanding and genuine care for one another. No matter our differences, choosing kindness and treating people with respect can create a more connected and supportive world.
