Her Story

About Rebecca

My healthcare career began more than 12 years ago when a podiatrist took a chance on me as a stay-at-home mom, training me as a medical assistant. That opportunity sparked a passion for patient care and laid the foundation for my career in healthcare.

Wanting to better understand the business side of medicine, I transitioned to a medical billing and collections company, where I gained valuable experience in insurance, revenue cycle management, and healthcare operations. I later returned to podiatry, serving in both clinical and assistant management roles, where I continued to grow as a leader while supporting patients and mentoring teams.

A recruiter introduced me to an opportunity in dentistry, where I joined a general dental practice and immersed myself in learning the field from the ground up. After my first year, I transitioned into specialty dentistry, where I have continued to advance my career and now serve as Specialty Support Leader, supporting oral surgery, orthodontic, and periodontics practices across multiple locations.

Looking back, my career has been shaped by saying "yes" to opportunities that challenged me, embracing continuous learning, and never being afraid to step outside my comfort zone. Every role has given me a new perspective on healthcare and leadership, reinforcing my belief that great leaders are built through service, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. Today, I am proud to support the teams who make exceptional patient care possible while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.

Ten minutes with Rebecca

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a lot of hard work. My family is a big motivator for me, especially my daughters. I want to be a woman that they can be inspired by and have as a role model. I have been inspired by strong women in my field and in my family, and I want to continue that.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve ever received is to fail forward. You are not actually ever failing; you’ve learned a lesson, sometimes easy, sometimes difficult. That’s not failure it’s growth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Fail forward.

Don’t be afraid to say “Yes”

Learn, grow,

and keep moving.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the ongoing challenges in healthcare is building a consistent, reliable team in an evolving workforce. While there is strong opportunity for growth, different generations may approach career paths and long-term roles in different ways, which makes retention and engagement especially important.

From a leadership perspective, success comes from creating strong culture, clear expectations, and supportive systems that help people grow in their roles. At the core, consistency, accountability, and hands-on experience remain essential to building strong teams and delivering quality patient care.
