About Rebecca

Rebecca Kaplan serves as Chief Marketing Officer at Slice Merchant Services, a company headquartered in New Jersey with a national footprint in point-of-sale and credit card processing. She leads efforts in scaling brand awareness and revenue growth through digital strategies, drawing on her expertise in building brand equity and consumer sentiment. Kaplan began her career on Wall Street in a middle-office role at Bear Stearns before transitioning to marketing around 2006 or 2007, where she applied analytical skills to digital marketing in the luxury hospitality sector. She advanced to become an expert in international hospitality, collaborating with organizations such as Google, Meta, and Amazon on digital technologies, and successfully pivoted large organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic to develop alternative revenue streams. Kaplan earned her degree from Syracuse University and completed a postgraduate revenue management program at Cornell. She attributes her success to a desire to make her younger self proud and values good character, reliability, and honesty in both professional and personal spheres. She actively supports veteran and active military programs through her organization and advises young professionals to seek mentorship, build workplace relationships, and develop soft skills.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Rebecca

01What do you attribute your success to?

I just think I want to make the younger version of me proud. I just want to be that person that little me thought I was going to be.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Move with deliberate focused purpose. Be over prepared. It's okay to fail as long as you learn and adjust.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Seek mentorship from those whose lives seem stable and appealing. Build relationships in the workplace as they are more valuable than just output. Develop soft skills as they are critical and undervalued.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Technology and the rise of AI and experimentation within technology is interesting and will have material impact. Watching intelligent people work with measurable impact is fascinating, but must balance with finance guidelines when dealing with people's money.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Good character. Being a reliable, honest, good person.
