She currently serves as Northern California Sales Manager at The Herrick Corporation, where she has driven multi-million-dollar revenue growth while managing sales of structural steel, miscellaneous iron, steel joists, metal decking, and off-shore detailing across North America. Her biggest career achievement has been working her way into a prestigious company, contributing to iconic branding, and consistently holding her own while achieving remarkable success.

Rebecca began her professional journey in nursing school before transitioning into graphic design, ultimately combining creativity and technical expertise to excel in steel construction. Over her extensive career, she has held leadership roles spanning regional and district sales management, business consulting, and project management. She has contributed to notable projects including UCSF Block 34 Clinical Building, Mission Rock Building B, and 1100 Broadway in Oakland, CA, establishing a reputation for excellence, professionalism, and results-driven performance.

A mentor to many, Rebecca leads by example and empowers her team to reach their full potential. Guided by her mentor, Mike Collier, who taught her about steel and project management, she has developed a passion for teaching others, including inspiring kids about building and construction. In both her work and personal life, she values effort, dedication, and quality time with loved ones, bringing the same focus, care, and attention to detail to everything she does.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my father, who was a civil engineer. Growing up, I spent time in his office and was inspired by his meticulous drawings, strong work ethic, and unwavering determination. His dedication and professionalism set the standard for me and shaped the way I approach my career.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering this industry to start with the fundamentals truly understand the nuts and bolts of your work. Become deeply knowledgeable about your product, your field, and the processes that drive success. By developing expertise and mastering the details, you position yourself to make informed decisions, stand out as a leader, and confidently navigate your career.

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are creativity, effort, and quality time with loved ones.
