Ten minutes with Rebecca
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being willing to continually learn, grow, and educate myself, both professionally and personally. I remain open to new experiences, perspectives, and information, allowing myself to learn dynamically and adapt along the way. Embracing continuous learning and being receptive to new opportunities have been among the most valuable pieces of advice I have received, and I believe they have played a significant role in helping me reach where I am today.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is that nobody is expected to know everything right away. I have learned the importance of being willing to ask questions, continually learn, and educate myself, not only within my profession but also on a personal level. Staying open to growth, new experiences, and opportunities to expand my knowledge has been essential to my professional development.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to remain open to learning, embrace new experiences, and be willing to adapt as opportunities arise. Do not be afraid to ask questions, because asking questions is an important part of learning and professional growth. Stay curious, seek out opportunities to expand your knowledge, and recognize that you do not have to know everything from the beginning.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is remaining competitive, both as a retailer and as a company that is actively attracting and developing new talent. While the competition for skilled professionals can be challenging, I welcome it because it encourages us to continuously improve, innovate, and find new ways to attract talented individuals and strengthen our organization.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are compassion, respect, and inclusivity. I believe in taking care of others, treating everyone with dignity, and appreciating people for who they are. I also value the diversity of perspectives and experiences that each individual brings, recognizing that these differences strengthen our teams, our workplace, and our ability to succeed together.
