Her Story

About Rebecca

I am a behavioral health and crisis response leader with over a decade of experience in crisis intervention, mobile crisis services, and program management, currently serving as Director at the Sante Group Companies, a role I have held since January 2025, where I lead compassionate behavioral health and crisis response services across Maryland and North Carolina. Prior to this role, I served as Mobile Crisis Team Clinical Coordinator for nearly two years, where I coordinated clinical response for mobile crisis teams, and as Community Policing Crisis Response Team Clinician for eight months, where I provided crisis response in partnership with law enforcement.

Before joining Sante Group, I served as Program Manager at the United Way of Connecticut for over a year, where I managed statewide crisis hotline services overseeing 211 and 988 operations across Connecticut. I also served as Emergency Department Social Worker at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital for over a year, as Mobile Crisis Specialist at Stony Brook Medicine for three years, where I provided mobile crisis intervention, and as Local Emergency Assistance and De-escalation Team Social Worker at Transitional Services for New York, Inc. for over two years, where I provided crisis response in Queens, New York.

Across my career in behavioral health, crisis response, and social work, my work has been driven by a commitment to providing compassionate, timely, and effective crisis intervention to individuals and communities in need. Whether I am leading behavioral health services, coordinating mobile crisis teams, or managing statewide crisis hotlines, I bring a client-centered approach, strong clinical expertise, and a dedication to ensuring that individuals in crisis receive the support and care they deserve. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue advancing behavioral health and crisis response services through my leadership at the Sante Group Companies.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Rebecca

01What do you attribute your success to?

My parents set a really good example of how to be humble and to work really hard. My mom was an ER nurse and my dad was a fireman, so that helping field was kind of just second nature to us, and they really taught me to be humble and hardworking.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Be patient. It takes time to see the growth and change that you want, especially in the Health and Human Services field. Just be patient and keep showing up and doing quality work. It'll eventually pay off.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You're not going to change the world overnight. You can get really jaded and disgruntled in this field. Just keep showing up and doing the next right thing, even if it's only affecting one family at a time. Don't take anything personally.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Consistency, fairness, honesty, integrity, and transparency. Good things take a lot of work, as learned from being a D1 athlete in cross-country and track at Western Michigan University.
