Rebecca Saunders serves as a professional in the nonprofit sector with approximately three years of experience at The Set Me Free Project. 01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Make sure you have a good balance and work-life balance, especially when dealing with difficult topics like human trafficking. Have a life outside of work with personal relationships, friends, family, and do something fun and unrelated to work.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is visibility because human trafficking is a scary topic and people want to believe it's not happening near them, even though it happens everywhere in big cities and small towns.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is very important - doing the right thing and doing what I say I'm gonna do. Also having fun, especially with a scary topic like human trafficking, providing quality education that involves critical thinking but having fun with it when we can.
