Rebecca Thomas is a seasoned finance leader with an extensive career spanning more than three decades at global manufacturing giants including Alcoa, Arconic, and Howmet Aerospace. A graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Rebecca built her career on a strong foundation of cost accounting, compliance, and auditing. Over the years, she has developed deep expertise in internal controls, financial management, and lean manufacturing, holding leadership roles that shaped financial operations and governance across multiple business units.

During her tenure at Alcoa and its successor companies, Rebecca advanced through numerous leadership positions, including Financial and Manufacturing Manager, Operations Controller, Director of Internal Control, and Compliance Manager. She successfully led global initiatives to enhance internal controls, ensure compliance with corporate policies, and strengthen audit readiness across financial, environmental, IT, and export functions. Her reputation for coaching and developing high-performing, diverse teams has been a hallmark of her leadership style, fostering both operational excellence and professional growth among her staff.

Now retired, Rebecca remains passionate about mentoring emerging finance professionals and supporting organizations in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency. Her career reflects a deep commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement—values that guided her journey from an internal auditor to a trusted financial advisor within some of the world’s leading industrial companies. She currently resides in Suwanee, Georgia, where she continues to engage with the professional community and champion leadership development.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that people pay attention to how you behave both when you get the job and when you don’t. It’s a reminder that professionalism, grace, and integrity matter just as much in moments of disappointment as they do in success.

My advice to young women entering this industry is to remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Be patient with yourself, stay resilient through setbacks, and celebrate your successes along the way. Every experience—good or bad—will help you grow and shape your career.

The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, are integrity, trust, and communication.
