Her Story
About Rebekah
As a keyholder at GameStop, I handle just about everything around the store except making the schedule. There's a lot to the job that people don't realize - I open and close the stores, clean, and provide customer service. When it comes to customer service, I answer the phone, take in a bunch of trades, clean up those trades, and make them look presentable so we can sell pre-owned products. I also handle remodeling the store, putting stuff out on the floor, and taking stuff in from our warehouse. Before this role, I dabbled as a face painter in the Disney parks, worked several years in fast food, and was a resident advisor in college. I'm kind of just trying to find what suits me best. I finished my Fine Arts Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University, which was a double major where I learned fine arts and presented in a bunch of shows, making me a professional artist. I also double majored as an art teacher and student-taught at a couple schools, but I realized I didn't enjoy the actual school setting, though I still want to teach. That's why I want to do the paint and sip - it combines my love of art with teaching in a more relaxed, social environment.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My mom has been my biggest cheerleader. She's never really cared if I had a really successful career, like doctor or lawyer. She's always kind of been jealous of my artistic talent, and she's always knew I would just do something with it. Having that support and knowing she believed I would do something with my art has been really special and motivating for me.
