Her Interview
Ten minutes with Rebekka
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the people who had confidence in me, who trusted me, and who gave me work based on my experience. It's not only based on my experience, but the trust they've kept in me. The compliments and feedback I've received from my clients for whatever I have given them - that is what I tribute my success to so far. The best advice I received from my clients was to keep a consistent flow. They told me that whatever I'm doing at present, let it be slow, that is fine, totally fine, but they told me to be consistent. That's what made me reach where I am now.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I received from my clients was to keep a consistent flow. They told me that whatever I'm doing at present, let it be slow, let it be a slow pace, that is fine, totally fine. But they told me to be consistent. That's what made me reach where I am now.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't jump straight into ghostwriting. Before writing a piece of a book or something, you have to analyze yourself with what you know. Nowadays, people are just straight away jumping into ghostwriting, and they are just having a headline on LinkedIn as a ghostwriter. Before that, I want to tell whoever is a novice as a writer to read all kinds of books, all genres of books, to go through them, and then jump into the writing.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge I face is that I never get a project easily. If I'm doing a project for a month, there will be a gap of 6 to 7 months to get another project. People are not easily available to give work to someone who is worthy enough to take the project and do it. People tend to go for those who charge less cost, because writing nowadays is all about passion, but people are not ready to accept that. They reach other people instead of reaching the one who is worth enough, and that's what I think I face. As for opportunities, I can be a best ghostwriter, a writer, an article writer. I can write for magazines, newspapers, travel blogs, and I'm a good book reviewer. I do vast book reviewing for different authors, and mainly I focus on historical facts. Those are the opportunities in my field.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In ghostwriting, I never disclose my credentials to other clients if they want any proof regarding my previous works, because that is against my ethics. I never disclose those experiences, those proofs, those ghostwriting proofs to other clients. Maintaining confidentiality and protecting my clients' privacy is fundamental to how I work.
