About Reem
Reem Olaby serves as Director of Pharmacology and Toxicology and Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at her institution. With almost 18 years in higher education, she began her career as a pharmacist and earned her master's and PhD in biotechnology, emphasizing drug discovery, along with three patents. She later obtained a Master's in Public Health from George Washington and is nearing completion of a Master's in Higher Education Leadership from Harvard.
Throughout her career, Olaby has taught clinical education to medical students, pharmacy students, dentistry students, nursing students, and now veterinary students. She founded the Faculty Innovation and Success Hub (FISH) as its director to support faculty development through a two-directional approach. Olaby values education and science for breaking barriers and fostering compassion in healthcare training. She developed the HUMAN framework to create human-centered classrooms that support clinical students and faculty by promoting psychological safety, understanding learners, connecting theory to practice, iterative feedback, and nourishment beyond textbooks.
