About Regina
Regina Beard, DNP, RN, is a nurse, nonprofit founder, and educator whose career has been shaped by a deep commitment to healthcare and youth empowerment. With two decades of nursing experience and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Touro University Nevada, she currently serves as President and CEO of VicTory 4 Kidz and as Program Director of VicTory Training, LLC, a role she has held for over twelve years. Earlier in her career, she spent five years as an Adjunct Professor at Valparaiso University, sharing her clinical knowledge with the next generation of students. Her academic journey was far from conventional, beginning with prerequisite coursework at Ivy Tech, continuing through advising sessions at Purdue University Calumet, and culminating in an accelerated nursing program at Brown Mackie College that she completed in just eleven months. In 2022, Dr. Beard founded Victory for Kids, a nonprofit organization created to spark enthusiasm among young people for careers in healthcare. Under her leadership, the organization has connected with more than 16,000 youth, and more than a third of those participants have gone on to pursue post-secondary healthcare training. Central to this mission is the Youth Healthcare Career Expo, an initiative she hosts that is now expanding to include engineering-focused programming as well, reflecting her belief that there are far more career paths in healthcare than most people realize. Her work is further supported through her involvement with the Hobart Education Foundation, and Quantum Visionary Foundation. Dr. Beard credits her achievements to her faith, describing obedience and perseverance as the foundation of her professional path, alongside the encouragement of mentors, family, and her broader community. She often points to a lesson from Archbishop William Hudson III as a guiding principle in her life: that true purpose is found in work you would do even without payment. Grounded in patient-centered care and a desire to build lasting legacy, she continues to mentor young people considering the field, urging them to enter healthcare for genuine reasons rooted in service rather than status or income.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to my faith in God, along with the obedience and perseverance that faith has required of me. I'm also deeply grateful for the mentors and family members who guided me along the way, and for the trust my community has placed in me throughout my journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My father was the one who first pushed me toward this path, encouraging me to look into the work of nurse anesthetists, and that early nudge set my career in motion. Beyond that, one teaching has stayed with me ever since I heard it from Archbishop William Hudson III: if you would do the work even without being paid for it, then you're standing in your true purpose.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I'd tell them to check in with God first and make sure this is truly where He is calling them. You have to have a genuine heart for nursing, because healthcare is patient-centered work that's constantly evolving. Come into this field for the right reasons, not for the money or the scrubs. Always put your patients first.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I see is that both adults and young people simply aren't aware of how many career paths exist in healthcare, and that lack of awareness is contributing to shortages across many allied-health professions. I see real opportunity in programs like our Youth Healthcare Career Expo, which we're now expanding to include engineering, along with scholarships that can inspire and recruit the next generation into these much-needed roles.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith guides everything I do, and I try to keep patient-first service at the center of my work. Building a lasting legacy and mentoring the next generation matter deeply to me, both professionally and personally.
