Her Interview

Ten minutes with Reisa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I work very hard, but I have been so fortunate to attract people that are willing to mentor me. I am a fiercely loyal person, and I work really hard, I will do anything for you, and I have found like-minded people, and we have all worked together.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Get your contracts done first, so your friendship can happen after. When you really like someone, an employee, a business partner, a client, when you have that immediate kismet with somebody, sometimes you can lose sight of the fact that you are doing business.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Write WAIT at the top of your page in meetings: Why am I talking? Be thoughtful about whether you are bringing value and intelligence to the space rather than filling the air because you are nervous.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of my biggest challenges has been ensuring that my team knows I am truly on their side. I want my team to feel that they can trust me, rely on my support, and know that I will do everything I can to advocate for them and help them succeed.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

It is important to genuinely care about the people that are around you, and not just say it. Put your money where your mouth is and really be thoughtful in the way that you care about people.
