Rekha Jain
Rekha Jain is a Chartered Accountant and Audit Senior at Deloitte, currently based in Morristown, New Jersey. With over five years of experience in auditing and financial services, Rekha has developed expertise in financial statement auditing, company law, and both direct and indirect taxation. Her professional journey has taken her from India to the United States, allowing her to work with diverse international clients and gain exposure to complex auditing environments.
After completing her Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from Delhi University, Rekha pursued her Chartered Accountancy qualification, clearing her exams in January 2020. She began her career in India, gaining experience at prominent firms before joining Deloitte, where she quickly advanced from Audit Senior Assistant to Audit Senior. Her dedication and strong work ethic were recently recognized in a one-on-one session with Deloitte’s CEO, a milestone she regards as a defining moment in her career.
Rekha’s professional philosophy centers on audit quality, integrity, and continuous learning. She is passionate about delivering work that stakeholders can trust while fostering meaningful client relationships. What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my family and friends, who encouraged me during the challenging journey of preparing for the CA exam. Their motivation, along with the invaluable guidance from my mentors and teachers, helped me persevere and grow both academically and personally. I also believe in balancing studies with broader life experiences, as so much learning happens outside the classroom, shaping the person I am today.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to follow your passion—if your heart is in it, there is immense opportunity here. Accounting and auditing are often perceived as narrow fields, but in reality, they encompass a wide range of skills and experiences that go far beyond the basics. This profession offers the chance to learn, grow, and contribute to work that builds trust and delivers quality to others.
It’s a field to be proud of, and being part of it can be truly transformative. I encourage young women to embrace the opportunities it offers, as it has profoundly shaped my own career and personal growth.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me are delivering quality, building trust, perseverance, and curiosity. My journey at Deloitte has been shaped by invaluable mentorship, especially from Puneet Gujral, whose guidance and confidence in me have been instrumental in my growth. I also believe in balancing professional work with broader life experiences, as family, mentors, and learning outside the classroom have played a key role in shaping who I am today.
