Her Interview
Ten minutes with Renda
01What do you attribute your success to?
Being a farm kid taught me how to work hard. I have grit from being marginalized and stereotyped, and I keep going. Mental health focus and the Hoffman Process have been key, as has surrounding myself with strong women.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Manage your money and pay your taxes, manage your own finances, and know how to break up with someone with a really clear contract. Surround yourself with strong women.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Show your character over and over again, know what you stand for or you'll fall for everything. It's all about the team and having relationships with people that will get you through hard times.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Employing people, immigration issues as a roofer, dealing with insurance, and maintaining safety standards where you treat everyone's child like your own so they go home safe.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Teamwork, fighting injustices, women's rights, women's reproductive rights, supporting women and non-binary people, and believing in dirty hands, clean money.
