Her Story

About Renee

Renee Collie has worked in the marketing agency space for 17 years since completing grad school in 2009. She runs an agency where she serves as a fractional CMO or CSO for multiple clients across for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Her work focuses on helping businesses grow through marketing, business consulting, and strategy, with a particular emphasis on guiding owners to tell their stories in ways that highlight transformations rather than processes. One of her key clients is Children of Grace, a nonprofit in Uganda supporting orphans and vulnerable children, where she serves on the executive team. Collie is also actively involved in service organizations in the Nashville area and attributes her professional success to the leaders, mentors, and coaches who encouraged innovation and persistence, as well as her Christian faith. She values people above performance or titles, prioritizes excellence and creativity, and advises young women entering the field to seek healthy mentors and invest in personal development through coaching or therapy.

Ten minutes with Renee

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the leaders, mentors, and coaches I've had who exposed me to innovation and didn't let me settle, combined with not giving up and my Christian faith directing my steps.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Find a mentor who is healthy and can model how to handle life and work. Invest in yourself through coaching or therapy because a healthy you will outperform everyone and feel fulfilled.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The greatest opportunity is helping business owners tell their story in a way that no one can say no, moving beyond listing processes to transformations. Challenges include adapting to AI, team building decisions, and the rapid pace of technology with no new normal.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

People matter most - value them as persons not their performance or title, allow them to be human. Excellence and creativity/innovation are also key, creating margin for refueling rather than just decompressing.
