Renee Helmer
Renee Helmer is a distinguished entrepreneur, founder of Helmer Directional Drilling and Helmer OPS, a minority-owned business development and consulting firm specializing in the energy and oilfield services sector. Transitioning from a stay-at-home mother to a C-suite business leader, Renee took the reins of her family’s 65-year-old directional drilling business after her husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Through vision, determination, and hands-on leadership, she not only revitalized the business but also leveraged her experience to establish Helmer OPS, a firm renowned for its strategic client development and solutions-driven approach. Renee attributes her success to her servant heart, unwavering dedication to helping others, and her commitment to fostering collaboration between women and men in male-dominated industries.
Renee’s career is characterized by bold entrepreneurship, technical expertise, and global engagement. She quickly mastered the technical aspects of directional drilling, building strong relationships with oilfield clients across Texas, including through innovative initiatives such as “Miss Helmer Whiskey Wednesdays,” which combined networking with cultural and culinary experiences. Prior to her entrepreneurial ventures, Renee served as Chief of Staff for Immaculée Ilibagiza, internationally acclaimed author and inspirational speaker, where she developed global marketing strategies and cultivated high-level relationships with prominent figures including Pope John Paul II, Paul Kagame, and Kamla Persad-Bissessar. These experiences honed her ability to navigate complex environments, build international partnerships, and lead organizations through dynamic challenges.
Beyond her professional achievements, Renee is a passionate advocate for women in leadership, Parkinson’s caregivers, and community development. She hosts the faith-rooted podcast “What Will Renee Say Today?”, sharing insights on resilience, leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. Renee’s commitment to community is reflected in her board service with organizations supporting education, health, veterans, the arts, and youth empowerment. Through her global perspective, strategic vision, and dedication to mentorship, Renee Helmer exemplifies servant leadership, blending entrepreneurial excellence with a deep commitment to making a meaningful impact on her industry and society at large.
