About Renee
Renee OHanlon serves as the executive assistant to the dean of the libraries at UMass Amherst Libraries. In this role, she manages the dean's scheduling and meetings, participates in the library leadership team, handles academic HR recruitment and interviews for librarian positions from across the country, and contributes to events and social committees focused on employee wellness and engagement. With more than 25 years in the healthcare industry, primarily in the New York City area, she spent nearly 10 years at Montefiore Health System in the Bronx. There, she advanced from executive assistant and operations manager to project associate and eventually development and communications manager, overseeing communications, marketing, event planning, social media, and website efforts for medical group practices and school health programs serving numerous sites. During the pandemic, she co-produced a documentary on frontline workers and served as project manager for a traveling mass vaccination clinic that served hundreds daily across multiple locations. OHanlon earned a master's degree in healthcare administration and holds a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. She aspires to positions in operations, such as director of operations or chief of staff, or in communications and marketing.
