About Renee
Renee ParkerWeathersby is the Chief of Compliance for a non-profit organization based in New York. In this role, she manages compliance matters including incident reports, anonymous hotline complaints, contract procurements, policy writing, and responses to litigation claims on behalf of the organization. The non-profit operates approximately nine shelters in the Brooklyn and New York area, offering temporary housing and shelter to homeless veterans, undocumented citizens, and individuals who were previously incarcerated as they work to regain stability.
She launched her professional journey in human resources with the United States Army in 1989 and served for 26 years until her retirement in 2015. During her military tenure, her responsibilities encompassed various HR functions, culminating in EEOC civil rights investigations under Titles VI, VII, and IX. Following her retirement, she pursued legal education, commencing law school in 2018 and obtaining her JD in 2022, in addition to holding a bachelor's degree and a master's degree.
ParkerWeathersby's expertise centers on leadership, accountability in compliance, policy development, and governance. She maintains professional certifications as a mediator, in alternate dispute resolution, conflict management, and as a Scrum Master. She is also affiliated with the National Panhellenic Council and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
