Her Interview
Ten minutes with Renuka
01What do you attribute your success to?
I come from a very modest family, but both my mom and dad, they ensure that we get the best of education. I've learned a lot. Both of them are my rocks. Then my husband, is a fantastic person, supporter, he's in the IT industry himself. You know, VP Engineering a leader himself, and I have learned a lot from him as well, so... and plus my mentors, my sponsors, it's just, like, I'm just blessed. Friends, family.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I would say... I have a lot of mentors, right, and sponsors as well, but one thing that I think I have learned from all of them, which is common. Is that, the consistency is the key. ... a winner is where I feel somebody who is consistent and can keep it up. That's... that's, for me, is the biggest thing that I consciously put in effort, like, if I start something, I would try and be disciplined about it and see it through. So, consistency, for sure.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You know, we need a lot more of the women entry industry. I really feel that, and I say that straight from my heart. My advice to everyone would be to... Have that... there's a powerhouse within all of us. All of us, irrespective of women, men, whatever. We just have to be able to tap on it. ... realize that it's all within us, and realize that... bring it out. That's my advice to all the women in the industry, and we need much... many more of us in the industry.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
So the biggest challenge is to... You know, right now, AI, there's so much talk about AI. ... utilizing that AI into productive outcome. ... how do we really... Get it embedded into our workflow, the native AI that we all are marching towards. ... how do we channelize it and we bring it up? That's the biggest challenge in my industry right now that I feel. I mean, it's all out there, we just have to be able to channelize it and get it embedded into our workflow in a native way, rather than all the fluff around it.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity. I think, by default, that's, that's, like, my number one, Compassion and integrity, like, it's like, do what's right for the company, always, and with compassion for the people, both that are under you and your colleagues, or anybody. So, those are the two values that are really close to my heart. I'm a very dynamic leader, but at the same time, I'm a people leader as well.
