I'm an architect by degree from the Philippines, and I've been in the construction industry for 32 years. After graduating, I did drafting work for 2 years in the Philippines, then I started traveling throughout Asia. My company in Singapore asked me if I wanted to be in manufacturing when we went to Indonesia, and I said okay, I will try. I liked it and was very good at it, so I started in manufacturing and then handled the construction side as well, doing manufacturing and installation in the construction industry. I lived in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and had a little stint in Hong Kong, staying 2 to 3 years in each place, just enough to learn a little bit of the language. I've been in the United States since 2003. The company I first worked for when I came here brought me from Thailand because they said they needed me, and I started the quality department. I traveled the whole country for work - I think I have not been in Alaska only - and I also traveled to Europe and Asia, going to Singapore and Thailand again to look at the quality of materials, approving materials and training people. I moved between curtain wall and aluminum to concrete, and now I'm doing architectural concrete, specifically GFRC and UHPC. It's just like an envelope of curtain wall and aluminum, but instead of glass and aluminum, we use concrete to cover the whole building as a facade for commercial buildings and hotels. Right now, I'm the Director of Compliance at Building Blocks Facades in Orlando. I take care of our plant quality control manual, write the procedures and process flow for the company, do safety documentation, and create a lot of SOPs - everything that the company should have compliance by industry standards. I handle all the certification from the PCI and GRCA International, the FRT, and the company compliance for our QSM. I'm very good in documentation and materials, and I have expertise in glass and aluminum, and now I can also include concrete.
