Her Story
About Rianna
My journey in marketing began in 2019 when I lived in Florida, where I helped small businesses, friends, and family members with their digital needs. I was working as a nanny at the time, and many of the mothers I worked with who had their own businesses would ask me to help with web designs, flyers, and other marketing materials. It was something I had always been talented at, and people kept pushing me to take it seriously. In 2020, I made the life-changing decision to move to Houston with my sister. We were the first generation in our family to get up and leave our hometown of Gainesville, Florida. Around 2022, I started taking social media seriously, creating consistent videos on TikTok focused on cooking. Now I review restaurants here in Houston, and people invite me out to try their foods. But my true passion lies in videography and photography. Within the next 5 years, I want to have my own studio and build my portfolio as a professional photographer and videographer. Currently, I'm on a weight loss journey and pivoting my content to focus on meal prepping and healthier recipes. I'm presenting myself in a way that aligns with my vision, and while I know I could push myself harder, I'm being intentional about how I show up online. I love Houston and Texas, and I don't intend on moving around in this lifetime.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success 100% to Jesus Christ and my relationship with God. My foundation is built on church, reading my Word, and staying consistent in my prayer life. God is my rock and foundation. When my sister and I moved to Houston, we had no family here and we struggled for a while. There were days that we went without food, but God kept the foundation and we had a roof over our head. We stayed rooted in faith through it all. Even through the struggles and hardships, everything was meant to be. I asked God for three signs specifically about where I should move, and He gave me a vision of Houston. When I got off the plane at the Houston airport, God confirmed it with a gust of wind that took away my breath. It was a full-body experience, euphoric, and I knew that was God's confirmation. Through all of this, my relationship with God has been my main source of strength and success.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say to authentically be yourself and to not chase what the majority feels is the only way to make it in that world. Don't look to the outside world for how you should be moving. I think it's all about looking within and figuring out what works for you, what makes you comfortable, and what is also challenging you at the same time to grow in the direction that you feel is more conducive to the lifestyle you want to live and to living out your own personal dreams and goals. You need to carve your own lane or path for yourself, because nobody else can tell you how that path is structured since you're the one walking the path.
