About Riley
Riley Gruppen is a dedicated legal and administrative professional with a strong background in client relations, legal compliance, and research. Currently serving as an Adverse Matters Specialist at Stenger and Stenger, P.C., she supports legal operations and client-facing processes in a large debt collection law firm based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her role focuses on escalated matters such as counterclaims, regulatory complaints from the CFPB or Better Business Bureau, and communications regarding lawsuits and threats of suit. She graduated from Hope College in May after participating in the Washington Honor Semester, interning at a large international corporate law firm in Washington, D.C. on their State Attorney General practice group. Additional experience includes serving as a STEP Rep Coordinator at Hope College coordinating sexual assault awareness training for over 45 participants across Athletics and Greek Life, working as an Elections Intern for Ottawa County assisting with Election Day operations and public informational campaigns, and contributing as a published author to an encyclopedia titled Feminism in America with sections on The Feminine Mystique and Betty Friedan. Her career reflects a commitment to service, research, and community engagement, and she plans to apply to law school.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid to look for doors that you didn't realize could potentially open. There are people out there that are willing to pour into you and see value in the work that you're doing. There are a lot of women out there, especially, who want to see you succeed, and want to see you put your best foot forward. Once you get to a certain point in your life, that you almost have that responsibility to pay it forward and look for the next woman who's trying to succeed in whatever your field is.
