About Rinki
Rinki Suri serves as Growth Marketing Manager, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the marketing industry and over 10 years focused on growth marketing and paid social. She manages advertising campaigns across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to drive revenue through social media. Rinki earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and an MBA in marketing, supplemented by certificates in Facebook advertising and other social media platforms. Early in her career at L'Oreal she received an award for highest sales growth. She later took a pivotal step by leaving that role to join a small agency, where she developed expertise in social media advertising at a time when the field was emerging, subsequently working with major brands such as Rakuten, Robinhood, Dropbox, and currently Invisalign. Rinki attributes much of her success to a combination of hard work and being in the right place at the right time, including opportunities to network and her location in the Bay Area. She values accountability and supporting coworkers, and she previously volunteered with St. Jude Hospital. Among her advice to others is to keep trying new projects and, for young women entering the field, to leverage AI tools for self-learning while embracing technical and analytical work.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Rinki
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say there is one thing such as hard work, but I feel like most of it is also luck, being in the right place at the right time kind of thing. I love my job right now in growth marketing slash paid social, but a lot of it is luck being able to happen to get a job in an agency where paid social was a big thing at a time when paid social was just starting out. Being able to network and get that job has to do a lot with luck as well. Hard work is definitely there but I don't want to take away from some things that you might be given because of the environment, like right now I live in the Bay Area so that also gives a lot of opportunity to advance your career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
To always keep trying, keep taking on projects, keep taking on broad projects. If you have an opportunity to try something new, definitely try it.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
With AI being there, I feel like it's an opportunity to learn a lot of things on your own. In the past where you might have needed somebody to walk you through how things are done, now because of all these AI tools you can do a lot of the learning on your own. You can see where your gaps are and how you can improve. Being technical and analytical and not being afraid of those type of projects will be very helpful. Just make the effort to learn on your own.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Opportunities are if you are willing to learn there's so much to do. You get to really be creative, you get to be technical, you get to be analytic, you can really drive your career in growth marketing. It makes you really valuable because you see the results of what you put in and you get to move the needle and make an impact. The challenge is a lot of other people rely on you so being able to work with a lot of different types of people and different personalities is a challenge and being able to do it gracefully is a challenge. Also just sharing the information in growth marketing when you're all hands-on you know a lot but being able to communicate that information to somebody who might not do that role in a hands-on role is more of a challenge.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I believe being accountable, like if you promise something delivering on that. Being there for others like being there for your coworkers and realizing that work will always be there but what matters more is being there for somebody when they especially when they need you to be there for them.
