Her Story
About Risper
I've been in women's personal development for at least 10 years, but I started actively building my brand in 2020. My business is called Versio, and it's a place where women can level up in every capacity. I don't believe that society should make women choose between being a good mother and having a good career, or being ambitious and being fit. At Versio, we've created a space where a woman can grow in every area - spiritually, in fitness, in her business, in her mindset. We offer different coaching services and a community for women to grow. What piqued my interest in this work was the way I was growing up. People were always trying to put me in a box, saying I was too ambitious, that no man would marry me, or that I couldn't do other things for business outside of academics. I heard that as a woman, I couldn't be higher than my husband. I felt like they were forcing me to be in a box, and I know that a lot more women deal with that. We see women who are doing really well and then settle for a man who is not even on their level and it strips them of everything. That's what I'm very passionate about - helping women level up so they can choose partners who are on their level and will help them go higher instead of pulling them down. Right now, I'm working on launching Heart Memory Set, where women come together to heal from the experience of having a child. I'm creating a space for them to process and have conversations and work out. I'm looking into launching it in different areas in the United States and creating different communities and memberships where women can meet every week and work out together.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Risper
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to God. I know it sounds quick, but literally, it is God. Because I'm so different, and the vision that I have is different, and everything is different, I've always felt like I'm swimming against the waves. I feel like God has been the one that has directed my steps. I can't take credit and say that I did this, or I landed myself here. No, I was just following God's direction.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell my younger self to stop waiting for people to approve of you, because they don't. When I was younger, I thought that maybe if I just make myself a little bit smaller, people will approve of me, they'll like me. If I am extremely nice to them, they'll like me, but it doesn't make them like you at all. If people have made up in their mind that they don't like you, you can't change anything about it. I wish I didn't waste my time trying to make people see things the way I see them, or trying to make them like me, because they never did anyway. I would waste my time trying to make people see, and they just wouldn't see it. And so then I would take that as a sign that maybe I'm the one that's seeing it wrong, instead of just trusting my vision.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important thing to me is giving myself space between things, so I don't do things back-to-back. I rely on God - I'm a messenger, I'm a servant, I'm doing what I'm told to do. Sometimes when I'm feeling a certain way I can take that back to God and kind of squash it out with God. I try not to take on more than I can manage, because then that affects the way that I show up for people.
