Her Story

About Rita

Rita Briggs is an entrepreneur, content creator, digital marketer, and professional childcare provider whose career reflects a strong commitment to family, business ownership, and community service. As the owner of Meema’s House Daycare in Elk Grove, California, Rita provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment designed to meet the developmental needs of children. After spending much of her career in corporate sales, she transitioned into childcare ownership, initially establishing the daycare to support her family before ultimately taking over its operation herself. Her experience has given her a unique perspective on both entrepreneurship and the importance of accessible, quality childcare.

In addition to childcare, Rita has developed expertise in marketing, business development, and wealth-building strategies. Through Solo Mom Empire, she works as a marketing executive and content creator, using digital content and online strategies to promote business growth and create additional income opportunities. She also has experience as a real estate investor and previously served as Vice President of Business Development at Ready Reviews and VP of National Accounts at Atlas Sign Industries. Her entrepreneurial journey has been shaped by consistency, persistence, mentorship, and a desire to create greater flexibility for her family while building multiple streams of opportunity.

Family and service remain central to Rita's life and work. As a mother and grandmother, she is deeply motivated by the opportunity to help children and families, including by accepting childcare subsidies that make quality care more accessible to qualifying families. She has also supported charitable initiatives, including fundraising for children’s causes and organizations assisting women and families in need. Rita's community involvement has included service with the American Heart Association and coaching youth sports, while her personal interests include camping, paddleboarding, traveling, music, dancing, concerts, and spending time with her daughters. Her journey from corporate sales to childcare entrepreneurship and digital marketing demonstrates her ability to reinvent herself while remaining grounded in family, service, and a commitment to helping others.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Rita

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my family and children, who motivate me every day. I wanted the flexibility to be present in their lives rather than constantly being away for work, which ultimately led me to pursue daycare after leaving corporate sales.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to find a mentor who has already achieved what they aspire to do. Make a plan, stay consistent, and keep working toward your goals even when results are slow. Success takes time to build, so be patient and avoid promises of quick results.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family is my highest priority, along with helping children and families access quality, affordable childcare through subsidies. I also value giving back by supporting an orphanage in Nepal and the Gabriel Project, which assists women experiencing unplanned pregnancies.
