What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to maintaining an open mind and resisting the urge to respond too quickly with a definitive “no.” In recent years, I have made a conscious effort to listen carefully to what others are proposing or requesting, allowing me to evaluate opportunities more thoughtfully rather than dismissing them outright. This shift has helped me become more flexible in my thinking and more effective in my decision-making.
My career path was not something I initially envisioned. I originally joined the family business in a clerical capacity, intending it to be a short-term role while raising my children. At the time, I primarily handled administrative tasks and did not feel particularly connected to the work. However, by keeping an open mind, I gradually developed my skills and discovered a genuine passion for the industry over the years.
I am also motivated by the positive feedback I receive from customers, who frequently express appreciation for my knowledge, guidance, and support. My commitment to honesty, fairness, and exceptional service—never overcharging and always prioritizing the customer’s best interests—has been fundamental to my success. I take pride in building trust and providing meaningful support, which has become a defining aspect of my work ethic.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The most valuable career advice I have received is to maintain an open mind and avoid responding too quickly with a definitive “no.” I have learned the importance of fully listening to what others are proposing or requesting before forming a conclusion. Rather than immediately dismissing an idea, I take the time to evaluate it thoughtfully and consider alternative possibilities.
Over the years, I have become more adaptable in my approach. Earlier in my career, I was more inclined to respond quickly and definitively, often without fully exploring all options. Today, I make a conscious effort to pause, assess the situation more thoroughly, and communicate that I will review the request before providing a final answer. While some outcomes may still ultimately be negative, this more deliberate and analytical approach allows for better decision-making and more effective problem-solving.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say to a woman, try your best not to be intimidated by men in certain industries, and especially in this industry.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I’ve experienced firsthand how important it is to establish credibility through expertise, integrity, and consistent performance. At the same time, this presents a tremendous opportunity: by demonstrating knowledge, leadership, and reliability, I can also inspire other women to enter the industry. I focus on building strong relationships, providing honest guidance, and supporting my clients and team from start to finish, turning challenges into opportunities for growth, trust, and long-term success.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty is a core value in my work. I take pride in treating every customer fairly, never overcharging, and ensuring they receive exactly what they need—nothing more, nothing less. My approach is centered on long-term support; I remain available to my clients well beyond the initial sale, assisting them as their business grows and their needs evolve. I am highly responsive and committed to consistent follow-up, ensuring no client feels overlooked at any stage.
I strongly believe in direct communication. Speaking with customers allows me to better understand their level of urgency and provide more personalized, effective solutions. This level of attentiveness is something I feel has become less common, but it remains a priority in how I conduct business.
In my personal life, family comes first, followed closely by maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Professionally, I am driven by the satisfaction of helping others succeed. My clients often express appreciation for my knowledge, honesty, and guidance—especially when compared to experiences where they felt pressured into unnecessary purchases. I focus on providing a clear, practical starting point, allowing customers to expand as needed.
Ultimately, my goal is not only to build a successful business, but to create meaningful relationships by genuinely supporting my clients from start to finish.
