Riya Charaya has been working in the software industry since 2011, focusing on distributed systems and data infrastructure while building back-end systems for various business domains. She completed a master's degree from 2014 to 2016. As a member of ACM, she contributes to the computing community. Riya transitioned into a leadership role, which she considers a notable achievement as it allowed her to expand her impact from technical solutions to leading teams that solve complex problems and drive change. She attributes her success to hard work and the support of her family. Riya values authenticity, integrity, and quality in her work and personal life. She advises young women entering the field to be agile and maintain a learner's mindset, particularly in light of advancements in AI. She notes that AI brings both challenges in adoption and integration as well as opportunities for empowerment, emphasizing responsible use and governance.
