About Roberta

I've dedicated close to 3 decades to healthcare, with about 27 years in the field. My journey began as a surgical technologist, and 3 years later I transitioned into sterile processing, where I found my true calling. For the past 10 years, I've served as Director of Sterile Processing, managing operations regionally across 4 healthcare centers in the Center City region of Philadelphia. In this role, I'm responsible for day-to-day operations, strategic growth plans, and regulatory compliance. I oversee over 130 direct reports and lead a team of operational leaders who are solely responsible for reprocessing reusable medical devices. We service critical areas including the operating room, labor and delivery, office practices, and clinics. I love what I do - that's why I'm still in it. When asked about my most notable professional achievement, I'd say it's growing, training, and mentoring leaders in this field. Beyond my director role, I also consult and serve as a corporate voting member of AAMI, where I sit on multiple work groups for standardization in medical device reprocessing.
