Her Interview
Ten minutes with Dr. Rochelle
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success is grounded in the teachers and mentors who believed in me, particularly the women in leadership who modeled what it truly means to lead. Their example of strength paired with empathy gave me the courage to find my own voice and the confidence to create space for others to grow. I am deeply grateful for their guidance and for the doors they opened along the way.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to lead with balance: accountability and empathy, focus and flexibility, confidence and curiosity. It's shifted my focus toward being intentional about the culture I help create, especially in moments of challenge or change.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering the field of education to embrace what makes them unique. In my own practice, bringing my full self into class design and teaching has deepened my sense of purpose and strengthened my connection with students.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The rapid rise of technology, particularly AI, presents both a major challenge and a tremendous opportunity in education. Embracing this shift thoughtfully allows us to prepare students not just to use new technologies, but to question, shape, and lead alongside them.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In both my work and personal life, I value authenticity, empathy, and intentionality. I strive to bring my whole self to everything I do, whether in my work or in my relationships.
