She is an arts, culture, journalism, and civic leadership professional with experience in cultural affairs, creative workforce development, public arts programming, storytelling, project management, and community impact. She currently serves as Director of Cultural Affairs for the City of Charleston, where she supports arts, culture, history, creative entrepreneurship, and major festivals including Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto. Previously, she served as Director of Arts and Culture for the City of Detroit and spent nearly 20 years as an award-winning columnist with the Detroit Free Press.
