Rocquel AskewNeale

Rocquel AskewNeale serves as a preschool teacher at the YMCA, where she works with mobile infants and toddlers, creating an environment of positive energy and turning everyday moments into teaching opportunities about colors, objects, and more. With a deep passion for helping others through education, she previously dedicated over a decade to teaching intellectually challenged adults how to acclimate into society and lead normal daily lives. Her professional journey includes early roles at the Social Security Administration and the Board of Social Services in New Jersey from 1994 to 1996, followed by more than a decade at UPS starting in 1998, where she received professional training, leadership development, and support to obtain her degree along with certification in the Microsoft Office Suite. She also contributed to the United Way of Central Maryland, drawing inspiration from mentors there who emphasized community support and mental health. Rocquel maintains active involvement in volunteering, regularly donating blood through the Red Cross every three months, participating in cancer walks, community cookouts, book bag distributions, and arts and crafts activities for schools and homeless shelters. She previously belonged to a women's professional group focused on excellence and continues to pursue goals in education advocacy and launching her own educational venture.
