Her Interview

Ten minutes with Romayne

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to three things: resilience, continuous learning, and the courage to step into opportunities before I felt completely ready. Throughout my career, I've led complex global technology transformations, managed high-impact programs, earned advanced certifications, contributed to innovation initiatives, and built relationships across cultures and organizations. But what has made the greatest difference is my willingness to embrace challenges that others considered difficult and turn them into opportunities for growth. Every milestone in my career has come from pushing beyond my comfort zone while staying committed to excellence and helping others succeed.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

'Don't wait for permission to lead.' Leadership isn't a title. It's the willingness to step forward, solve problems, make decisions, and create positive change. That advice changed how I approached my career. Instead of waiting until I felt fully qualified, I started raising my hand for challenging assignments, speaking up with ideas, and taking ownership of outcomes. Many of the opportunities that shaped my career happened because I chose to lead before I had the title.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Never underestimate the value of your voice. Do not spend your career trying to prove you deserve a seat at the table. Spend it creating value so your presence becomes impossible to ignore. Build your network, bring unique perspectives, take on stretch opportunities. Confidence is not something you have before you act. It's something you build through action. Remember that you belong in every room where decisions are being made.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is keeping pace with the speed of change. Technologies such as AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, automation, and digital transformation are evolving faster than ever, and leaders must continuously adapt while helping others navigate that change.

The biggest opportunity is that we are living through one of the most transformational periods in history. Technology is reshaping every industry, every business model, and every customer experience. For women entering the field today, there has never been a greater opportunity to influence innovation, lead transformation, and help define the future of how organizations work and serve society.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, Impact, Curiosity, and Service. Integrity because trust is the foundation of leadership and relationships. Curiosity drives continuous learning. Impact means creating meaningful and lasting outcomes, not just completed projects. Service is about lifting others while climbing the ladder. Whether I'm leading a global transformation, mentoring emerging professionals, speaking at industry events, contributing innovations, or serving as a judge, my goal is always the same: to create opportunities, solve meaningful problems, and leave people and organizations better than I found them.
