Romina Magarello, LCAM, is a seasoned property management professional based in Miami Beach, Florida, currently serving as Property Manager at Onda Residences, a boutique luxury building in Bay Harbor Islands managed by FirstService Residential. With over 16 years of combined experience in hospitality, property management, and retail, Romina has built a career defined by exceptional service, operational excellence, and a commitment to creating meaningful connections with residents. She led the successful startup of Onda Residences in June 2024, overseeing everything from furnishing and staffing to SOP development, owner orientations, and coordination with developers and legal teams.
Romina began her hospitality journey at the W South Beach as a phone operator and quickly advanced through multiple roles, including insider (butler), concierge, assistant manager, manager, and senior manager for W Residences. Her leadership helped her team achieve top three global rankings in customer service for three consecutive years, culminating in the number one worldwide residence in guest satisfaction. During the pandemic, she stepped up to manage additional teams, supervise unit renovations, and oversee contractors while maintaining high standards of service, earning the Rising Stars Award for the city. Her approach emphasizes empathy, attentive listening, and personalized service, transforming luxury properties into true “home” experiences for residents.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a year abroad at the University of Oregon program in Córdoba, Argentina, Romina combines formal business education with extensive hands-on hospitality training. She is deeply involved in community and volunteer initiatives, including Habitat for Humanity, animal rescue, and environmental sustainability efforts. Recognized for her leadership, operational expertise, and ability to elevate service standards, Romina continues to inspire her teams and residents alike, blending professionalism with warmth and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

I attribute my success to the guidance and mentorship I received from Elmira, an exceptional HR director who taught me the importance of professional excellence and building strong client relationships. Inspired by her example, I have made it a priority to mentor others throughout my career, supporting employees who have even chosen to follow me to new opportunities.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came through mentorship that emphasized delivering meticulous, high-quality service—the “ladies and gentlemen” approach. I learned the importance of always going above and beyond while maintaining professional boundaries, a principle that has guided my work ever since.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to be resilient, empathetic, and attentive to your clients. Success isn’t just about delivering a product or service—it’s about creating meaningful connections and personalized experiences that truly make a difference.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field right now include addressing building deficiencies, collaborating with developers and legal teams during startup and opening phases, and meeting the high expectations of luxury clientele. At the same time, there are tremendous opportunities to deliver highly personalized, anticipatory service that builds lasting relationships and strengthens our reputation.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are empathy, integrity, attention to detail, a strong service orientation, and being fully present in every interaction.
