About Romina
Romina MyrtajNicieza serves as Sales Director for all Americas at Asbury Advanced Materials, where the company processes carbon and graphite materials for 70 different applications across various industries. She has 12 years of experience in the field, beginning her journey in the United States after immigrating from Albania in 2015 on a family visa. Initially pursuing opportunities in oil and gas and related chemical industries, she progressed from lab services sales to completion services, achieving significant growth in territories before moving into software sales for chemical refineries, where she exceeded quotas substantially. As a chemical engineer who speaks Spanish and Italian, she advanced from managing Latin America and Mexico to her current role within about a year at the company. Romina credits her success to hard work, persistence, discipline, and the right mindset, along with networking and building relationships. She encourages young women to take as many risks as possible while younger to avoid future regrets.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from hard work, persistence, discipline, and the right mindset. Everything starts with mentality, and then you just do the work. Networking and the ability to build relationships are also key.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take as many risks as you can. Don't be afraid to try something - if it works, great; if not, at least you tried and won't have regrets. Try as many things as possible while you're younger, before you get more risk-averse with kids and other responsibilities.
