Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, strong writing ability, and actively participating in strategic conferences. Mentoring women in cybersecurity has also been an essential part of my journey, allowing me to give back while continuing to grow professionally.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering aerospace or cybersecurity is to find mentors who can guide and support them. I also tell them to avoid eating powdered sugar donuts while wearing dark suits—a small but memorable lesson in maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Navigating a male-dominated industry has presented challenges, but I have learned the importance of standing up for oneself in technical fields. While women are underrepresented, we often play crucial roles in holding departments and businesses together, and it’s vital to recognize and embrace that contribution.
