Rosalind Tyburski
Rosalind Tyburski is a Somatic and Equine-Assisted Leadership Coach, neuroscience-based change expert, and Founder of Flying Changes Coach in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. With more than 25 years of experience guiding global teams across Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and nonprofits, she built a distinguished career in strategic planning, organizational design, and enterprise change leadership before launching her own practice. She holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is Prosci-certified in change management. In 2022, after decades in corporate transformation and a lifelong passion for holistic wellness, she founded Flying Changes Coach to bridge the gap between strategy and the nervous system — helping leaders navigate change without burnout.
The name “Flying Changes” comes from a complex horseback riding maneuver in which a horse shifts lead legs mid-stride — a movement requiring balance, stability, clarity of thought, and trust. That metaphor captures her approach to transformation. She brings corporate teams to her farm in North Carolina, where leadership retreats blend traditional team-building frameworks with immersive equine-assisted experiences. Mornings often focus on leadership and organizational concepts in the barn; afternoons unfold in the pasture or arena, where horses respond honestly and immediately to the energy people carry. Because horses are deeply attuned to nervous system cues, they surface patterns that emerge under stress or uncertainty, creating powerful openings for insight that participants can apply directly to their work, teams, and personal lives.
At the core of her work is nervous system regulation and the recognition of behavioral patterns that surface when individuals feel triggered. A yoga and meditation teacher for more than 25 years, she and her husband purchased their farm nearly a decade ago and began keeping horses — an experience that eventually converged with her professional expertise when she discovered equine-assisted learning. What once felt like separate threads of her life came together into one integrated calling. Two years ago, she stepped away from corporate leadership to focus full-time on Flying Changes Coach. She also collaborates with fellow coaches Heather and Danielle to launch HERD Retreats, equine-assisted coaching experiences designed for deeper group transformation. She values most the subtle, embodied shifts she witnesses in clients — those moments of awareness when someone recognizes what is happening in their nervous system — knowing that those small shifts compound into profound and lasting change.

What do you attribute your success to?
I've been incredibly fortunate to learn from Monique Ravesloot, who developed the equine-assisted coaching program I went through. I completed her Level 1 and Level 2 training and then worked with her as an assistant trainer for a while, and I've learned so much from her. She's been a big influence on my work. My husband has also been extremely supportive and very interested in the work I'm doing, which has been a huge help. Beyond specific mentors, I think my success comes from the way all the pieces of my life came together - my years in corporate change management, over 25 years of teaching yoga and meditation, and then discovering horses and equine-assisted learning. It felt like everything I had been doing throughout my career and personal life converged into this work. Now I'm also able to mentor two other coaches, Heather and Danielle, who went through the same training. We're collaborating on HERD Retreats together, and I've been helping them develop their own coaching businesses.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I don't have one piece of advice that would be universal for everyone - it really depends on the person. What I would want to do is talk to her about checking in with her own intuition and understanding what her own fears are. We all have self-sabotaging behaviors, so I think it's really important to learn about what those are and why they come up, and then pursue getting into your own business from that place of self-awareness. I believe strongly in helping people understand how their nervous systems work and why they behave the way they do when they get triggered by something. I also believe in being very clear when working with someone and not making them make a choice out of a place of fear, or a place of scarcity, or a place of duress. I give people opportunities to really weigh everything, because that aligns with my personal values.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Clarity, integrity, and respecting people's autonomy in decision-making are core to who I am and how I work. I help people understand how their nervous systems work and why they behave the way they do when they get triggered by something. When I'm working with someone, I like to be very clear and not make them make a choice out of a place of fear, or a place of scarcity, or a place of duress. I give people opportunities to really weigh everything, and it goes against my personal values when I'm not given that opportunity myself. Being present is also incredibly important - one of the biggest things people experience when working with the horses is that they are completely in the moment, not thinking about work or anything else, just breathing fresh air and being fully present. That presence and mindfulness, which I've cultivated through 25+ years of teaching yoga and meditation, is central to everything I do. I'm also deeply committed to animal welfare - I've volunteered extensively with horse rescues and other animal organizations dedicated to bettering the lives of animals.
