Rosalyn Guy-McCorkle
Rosalyn Guy-McCorkle is a seasoned attorney and public servant who currently serves as the Solicitor for Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. With more than three decades of dedicated service to the county, she has built a distinguished career grounded in legal excellence, ethical leadership, and an unwavering commitment to justice. In her current role, Rosalyn provides legal counsel and oversight on a wide range of county matters, ensuring compliance, fairness, and integrity in public operations.
Before her appointment as County Solicitor, Rosalyn spent 30 years as an Assistant County Solicitor, where she focused on child support issues including establishment, enforcement, and paternity. Alongside her public service, she is the founder of the Legal Office of Guy-McCorkle, a private practice representing clients in small business law, estates, divorce, personal injury, and other civil matters. Her extensive legal experience reflects both depth and versatility, allowing her to navigate complex legal landscapes while advocating for equitable solutions.
In addition to her legal career, Rosalyn is a passionate educator, serving as an Adjunct Professor of Family Law at Duquesne University since 2008. She earned her Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from West Virginia University. Through her leadership, mentorship, and lifelong dedication to service, Rosalyn continues to inspire the next generation of legal professionals and advocates within her community.

I attribute my success to being intentional — making thoughtful choices, setting clear goals, and aligning my actions with purpose and integrity.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay true to yourself and lead with integrity. Authenticity and strong values will set you apart and guide you through every challenge and opportunity you encounter.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is showing up in spaces where I’m often the only woman. However, this also presents an incredible opportunity — to pave the way for greater inclusion, representation, and empowerment for the next generation of women in the industry.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, prioritizing mental health, and fostering teamwork. I believe in doing what’s right even when no one is watching, maintaining balance and well-being, and working collaboratively to overcome challenges and achieve shared goals.
