Her Interview

Ten minutes with Rosalyn

01What do you attribute your success to?

Success for me is when I have mentored someone and I see the fruit of it. My upbringing in the church has helped me ground it even when I fumbled or failed or made mistakes. It has helped me to get back up and get back on the right track. I don't define success by the cars or the house or the bank account. I define it as what have I done to help the next person.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I ever received is that patience really is a virtue because it causes you to go through process. My pastor said to me: Your delay is not denial. Your delay is developing you. Never try to get out of a situation early because God is doing something in you and with you. When I go through things I have to remember that I'm being developed. I used to be a whiner but that has matured me to say whatever reason I'm going through this it's gonna work out for my good. I'm being developed.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my personal life I value my relationship with the Lord very much because without the Lord I couldn't be who I am. I value my family because I'm able to pour into them. I have one daughter and she has two girls and my heart just wrapped around them. In my work I value the people I touch. I pray that something I do or say will help the next person. I want to be able to pour into people. I value people because I think everybody's important.
