Rose Farley serves as a Senior Education Consultant at Readable English, where she works to improve literacy for students across grades 4 through 12. With 25 years in the K-12 education space, she previously held the role of national sales manager for curriculum offerings, focusing on music and art programs placed in schools nationwide. A college graduate who studied business and pursued a master's in child psychology, Rose began her career in the finance sector with Fortune 500 companies including Shearson Lehman and Merrill Lynch before transitioning to education. She also consults for art companies and supports after-school programming through initiatives like those with YWCA Boys and Girls Clubs. Based in California, Rose emphasizes the importance of addressing diverse learning needs, including right-brain creative approaches alongside core literacy skills, and has led efforts such as an arts camp during the COVID period to support student engagement.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's not an easy industry to break into. You have to have a lot of thick skin for rejection. It's a very personalized industry. You really have to know what you're doing, understand the lingo, funding sources like Title I, Title III, Title IX. You can't just go in and say I'm here, this is a great program. You have to come in with your backstory of funding mechanisms.
