Her Story
About Rose
I've been in healthcare for 30 years, and I've been the CEO of my current company for almost 8 years now. My journey has taken me through many areas - I did the grunt work when I was younger, worked in shoes because I had a fascination for them, worked in the defense space, and did regulatory consulting for pharma companies, med tech, health tech, and nutraceuticals. I've built other companies like this before and sold the assets in the organization. But this company is very special because I get to help people with adults with cancer and children's cancers. I have the pleasure of developing technologies that will be impactful in someone's health, in precision medicine, on the diagnostic side as well as the therapy side. Being a woman in the biotech specialty pharma space is very rewarding because it's really a man's world. I'm also the healthcare ambassador to the Miami Chamber of Commerce Dubai and Riyadh, and now we're expanding to Rome and Italy. I love that because I get to meet international medical companies all over the world and look at new technologies that can be rolled out. My typical day involves dealing with a lot of investors, doing partnerships with other companies, and constantly networking. I believe the more you get yourself out there and the more known you are, the better you are. I spoke at a Global Family Office Summit this week on Tuesday as one of the key speakers for the panel on women's leadership and being powerful and leading in a space like this. I was one of the first women executives in the space of nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceuticals - it was me, another lady who worked with Nordian, and a lady from Melanchrod. We were the only three women in corporate as executives in this space. I pioneered in that specific space. I literally went into entrepreneurship and started my own company and got a drug FDA approved. I built a drug for bone pain in breast, prostate, and lung cancer patients, and I built two manufacturing plants that both got FDA approved. When you're the CEO, people think it's such a prestigious position, but you're almost like the great-great-great-grandmother who's doing everything and gives a gift to all the kids. Your responsibility is so large - you're responsible for payroll, making sure your team is doing the job, clinical testing, manufacturing, working with the FDA, getting it into the large pharma distribution channel, packaging the drug, making sure it got shipped, speaking to the clients. It's really a lot of work, but it's extremely rewarding when you get those letters from the FDA that say you got the green light to do your study, and you know that your drug is going to help a patient.

Ten minutes with Rose
01What do you attribute your success to?
I just keep driving forward, you know? I pray to God every day, meditate every day, and believe that everything is gonna work out. I think being very spiritual is very helpful, because there's always challenges, especially when you're dealing with the Food and Drug Administration. So you have to balance that out. Also, when you're bringing money into your organization, raising capital, expanding, building market opportunities, meeting with people - I always keep a smile, be happy. I know that somebody else could probably be going through worse things than I am. And just being grateful, being grateful for everything that you have.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never give up.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never give up. Follow your dreams. And hustle every day.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity I have in my field is acquisition of one of my many companies. If one pharma company comes in and acquires us, then I will be doing a lot of philanthropy work and giving back. You really need to have a lot of patience. And if you have patience, and you're honest, and you're real, and you're loyal, I think that things end up happening when you least expect it. So, live in the now, be prepared for what can come tomorrow, and always just wake up happy and grateful.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and loyalty.
